Rotation of Armenian peace-makers in Kosovo to be held in second half of May

( ArmInfo ) - Rotation of the Armenian peace-makers in Kosovo will be held in the second half of May, Commander of the peacemaking battalion of RA Defense Ministry Artak Tonoyan told.

The sixth group of peace-makers, numbering 34 people, is presently in Kosovo. The rotation takes place every half a year. Armenia joined the peacemaking mission in Kosovo in 2004. The first platoon of the Armenian peacemakers, numbering 34 people, left for Kosovo on February 12, 2004. The Armenian "blue berets" participate in the peace-making operation in Kosovo in the structure of the Greek battalion near Uroshevats city.

The Memorandum on participation of the rifle platoon of RA Armed Forces in the peace-making operation in Kosovo in the structure of the Greek battalion was signed on September 3, 2003, in Yerevan

and ratified by RA Parliament on December 13, 2003.
