Georgian TV reports say one alleged organizer of a short-lived mutiny at a military base this month has been killed and two others wounded in a police operation.
Rustavi-2 television said a shootout erupted when police found the former military officers during a search in the capital, Tbilisi, early Thursday, AP reported.
An Interior Ministry official declined immediate comment.
The three suspects were wanted for their alleged roles in organizing a mutiny at a tank battalion headquarters in the ex-Soviet republic on May 5.
Georgian officials initially claimed the mutiny was part of a Russian-backed plot to bring down the government, but later backtracked and said its apparent aim was to disrupt NATO military exercises under way in Georgia.
