EU ambassador to Georgia completes his mission

Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze held a farewell meeting with the head of EU delegation to Georgia Per Eklund, who leaves the country on Nov. 1.
The sides discussed the priorities in relations between Georgia and the EU and the status of such areas of cooperation as negotiations on association, visa facilitation and free trade, stressing the importance of timely completion of the negotiation process, the prospects for cooperation within the Eastern Partnership and other issues, the Foreign Ministry of Georgia told Trend.
Vashadze emphasized Eklund's contribution to the development of relations between Georgia and the EU and thanked him.
In his turn, Per Eklund welcomed the dynamics of relations between Georgia and the EU and stressed the need to accelerate the strengthening of these relations.
