Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili met with Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrowski today. The parties discussed relations between the countries and issues of deepening cooperation in specific economic and business projects.
The Latvian side is interested in the implementation of joint investment projects in Georgia and investment in the future, the presidential administration told Trend. The sides also discussed the need to increase the turnover between the two countries in the economic sphere.
At the end of the meeting Valdis Dombrowski reiterated his support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and promised all possible assistance in the process of integration into Euro-Atlantic structures.
Today Mikheil Saakashvili will also participate in the Georgian-Latvian business forum and visit the Latvian University, where the speech of the president is planned. Mikheil Saakashvili will visit the resort town of Jurmala, where, by the decision of the two countries a Memorandum of Friendship between Jurmala and Anaklia will be signed. Mikheil Saakashvili will participate in other official and cultural events, including the opening of Shota Rustaveli's bás-relief in Riga relief and a photo exhibition on Georgia's participation in the program of ISAF, under the title Together for a common peace and security - Georgia in ISAF.
The official visit of the Georgian President to Latvia will be finished today.
