Due to the threat of avalanches, traffic is blocked on a section of the Gudauri-Kobi road which leads to the Upper Lars checkpoint on the Georgian-Russian border.
As the deputy chairman of the roads department Guram Vakhtangashvili told Trend, this section of road is closed and the equipment cannot launch work on snow clearance due to the risk of avalanches
Restrictions are imposed on Nakerala and Gombori passes where traffic is prohibited for trailer and semi-trailer vehicles. Traffic on the Rikoti Pass is clear for all types of transport.
