Georgia’s trade turnover with Turkey from January through October 2021 amounted to $1.6 billion, compared to $1.2 billion over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
Thus, Turkey remained the top Georgian trade turnover partner over the first 10 months of 2021, followed by Russia ($1 billion) and China ($991.8 million).
Turkey’s share accounted for 14.1 percent of the total foreign trade turnover of Georgia over the first 10 months of 2021, which is equal to the reporting period of 2020.
Georgian exports to Turkey from January through October 2021, accounting to 5.8 percent of total exports, increased by 66.4 percent to $260 million, compared to $156.2 million over the same period of 2020.
Georgian imports from Turkey over first 10 months of 2021, accounting to 17.8 percent of the total imports, increased by 27.2 percent to $1.4 billion, compared to $1.1 billion over the reporting period of 2020.
Turkey remained the top partner of Georgia by imports, followed by Russia ($812.2 million) and China ($705.2 million).
Meanwhile, Georgian total foreign trade turnover (excluding undeclared trade) from January through October 2021 amounted to $11.3 billion, which is 23 percent more than over the same period of 2020 – $9.1 billion.
