Georgia’s cement imports from Azerbaijan in October 2021 amounted to $3.4 million, which is an increase of 61.9 percent, compared to $2.1 million worth of cement over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The volume of the exported cement to Georgia also increased by 52.7 percent, compared to 45,510 tons over the first 10 months of 2020, to 69,543 tons.

Georgia’s cement imports from Azerbaijan from January through October 2021 increased by 70.3 percent, compared to the same period of 2020 ($14.5 million), and totaled $24.7 million.

The export amount of cement also increased by 75.3 percent over the first 10 months of 2021, compared to the same period of 2020 – from 295,845 tons to 518,774 tons.

Thus, Azerbaijan became the main cement exporter to Georgia from January through October 2021, followed by Turkey ($11.2 million) and Russia ($21,630).

Meanwhile, Georgia’s total imports of cement from January through October 2021 amounted to $36 million, which is an increase of 13.9 percent, compared to $31.6 million over the same period of 2020.
