The Finance and Budget Committee of Georgia supported the revised version of the 2022 state budget, Irakli Kovzanadze, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance and Budget, said, Trend reports via the press service of the Parliament.
According to Irakli Kovzanadze, the final version of the document takes into account the proposals and recommendations of the Parliament of Georgia.
The GDP growth is projected at 6 percent and amounts to 65 billion Georgian lari ($20.9 billion). The budget deficit was set at 4.2 percent, Kovzanadze said.
The part art of the expenses has been increased by 332 million Georgian lari ($106.7 million), and the allocations reach 19.1 billion Georgian lari ($6.1 billion), he added.
“The funding has been increased for almost all ministries and departments. Salaries are increased by 10 percent for civil servants, as well as for demanding organizations,” Irakli Kovzanadze said.
According to Giorgi Kakauridze, the First Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia, the budget deficit rate was 7.6 percent in 2021, while the economic growth forecast was 4.3 percent. Eventually, the current year ends with 10-percent economic growth, while the debt ratio is 51.7 percent, and the deficit is expected at 6.7 percent.
