Georgia’s cement imports from Azerbaijan in November 2021 amounted to $3.1 million, which is an increase of 72.2 percent, compared to $1.8 million worth of cement over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The volume of the exported cement to Georgia also increased by 53 percent, compared to 41,435 tons in November 2020, to 63,405 tons.
Georgia’s cement imports from Azerbaijan from January through November 2021 increased by 71.1 percent, compared to the same period of 2020 ($16.3 million), and totaled $27.9 million.
The exported amount of cement also increased by 62 percent over the first 11 months of 2021, compared to the same period of 2020 – from 359,250 tons to 582,179 tons.
Thus, Azerbaijan became the main cement exporter to Georgia from January through November 2021, followed by Turkey ($12.3 million) and Russia ($21,630).
Georgia’s total imports of cement from January through November 2021 amounted to $40.2 million, which is an increase of 16.1 percent, compared to $34.6 million over the same period of 2020.
