Georgia shares data on trade turnover in 2021

Georgia’s foreign trade turnover (excluding non-declared trade) in 2021 amounted to $14.3 billion, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

According to the statistical data, the current index increased by 25.6 percent, compared to $11.3 billion over the same period of 2020.

Georgia’s exports in 2021 amounted to $4.2 billion, which is an increase of 26.9 percent, compared to $3.3 billion in 2020.

Georgia’s imports in 2021 amounted to $10 billion – an increase of 25.1 percent, compared to $8 billion over 2020.

The trade deficit in Georgia in 2021 equaled $5.8 billion with a 40.7 percent share in the total trade turnover.

The same index over 2020 amounted to $4.7 billion, while its share in the total trade turnover accounting for 41.1 percent.

Meanwhile, Georgia’s foreign trade turnover only in December 2021 amounted to $1.4 billion, which is an increase of 27.2 percent, compared to $1.1 billion over the same period of 2020.
