BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 22. The trade turnover between Georgia and Uzbekistan from January through March 2022 totaled $31.7 million – an increase of 52.4 percent, compared to $20.8 million over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).
In particular, Georgia’s imports from Uzbekistan over the reporting period of 2022 amounted to $7.5 million, which is an increase of 87.5 percent, compared to $4 million over the same period of 2021.
Georgia’s exports to Uzbekistan over the first quarter of 2022 amounted to $24.1 million, which is an increase of 43.5 percent, compared to $16.8 million over the same period of 2021.
According to Geostat, Uzbekistan ranks 9 among Georgia’s top trading partners by exports from January through March 2022 - 2 percent of the total trade turnover.
Meanwhile, Georgia’s foreign trade turnover (excluding non-declared trade) from January through March 2022 amounted to $3.8 billion, which is an increase of 37.9 percent, compared to $2.7 billion over the same period of 2021.
