BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 13. Georgia’s state reserve assets in April 2022 amounted to $3.8 billion, which is a decrease of 7.3 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($4.1 billion), Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

The same figure also decreased by 5 percent, compared to April 2022 ($4 billion), the report said.

Georgia’s foreign currency reserves decreased by 15.3 percent, compared to April 2021 ($3.9 billion), and totaled $3.3 billion. Moreover, the same number also declined by 5.7 percent, compared to February 2022 ($3.5 billion).

The NBG’s reserves in special borrowing funds (SDRs) increased by 121 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($210.4 million), and totaled $465.1 million, while the NBG does not store funds in gold.

Meanwhile, the securities of the total reserves amount to $2.4 billion, while the currency in accounts of foreign banks and the IMF's reserves total $908.2 million.
