Seven people were killed when gunmen planted two roadside bombs targeting a police checkpoint in central Iraq, security sources said on Sunday, dpa reported.
Most of those killed in the attack late Saturday in Samaraa city, 117 kilometres north of Baghdad, were police officers, sources added.
Iraq has recently seen a rise in violence, with gunmen targeting security forces across the country.
