Israel, Jerusalem, 25 January / Тrend corr R. Abdullayev / A serious crisis will obviously occur in the diplomatic relations between Israel and Turkey. During one week the Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan several times criticized Israel, NEWSRU reported.

On 18 January, the Turkish Prime Minister Rejep Tayyip Erdogan said at the UN forum in Madrid that the UN peacekeepers should protect the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. On 22 January, when speaking at the Parliament the Prime Minister said that no Israeli died as a result of the firing by 'kasams', while the air firing by Israeli Air Force killed tens of Palestinians . "Two million people cannot be punished for one missile," he said calling on Israel to raise the blockade from the Gaza Strip.

Jerusalem heard his speech. The Israeli Foreign Ministry sent an official protest to the Turkish Ambassador Namik Tan and urged for an explanation. "In light of friendly relations between our countries Israel was disappointed by Erdogan's statement... Israel expected another reaction from the country which also fights terror," the high-ranking official of the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.

The Israeli Foreign Minister Tsipni Livni intends to speak to his Turkish counterpart Ali Babajan. Moreover, Ehud Olmert may connect via telephone with Tayyip Erdogan.
