( dpa )- A Thai father has lodged a police complaint against the government's student loan fund for dunning him for a debt of nearly 2,000 dollars purportedly owed by his 18-month-old daughter, who died 26 years ago, media reports said. Prajin Chatjoho, a former army lieutenant colonel, lodged the complaint after receiving an invoice last month from the Student Loan Fund (SLF) demanding repayment of 65,000 baht (1,970 dollars) for a loan allegedly taken out by their daughter, Natayani, said the Bangkok Post newspaper. The letter from the SLF pointed out that if Natayani was unable to repay the loan, Prajin would need to take responsibility for the debt himself. Prajin, after informing the SLF that his daughter had died on August 9, 1981, at the age of 18 months, decided to lodge a police complaint against the office because it had failed to provide either an explanation or an apology for the mix-up.
