( AFP ) - An explosion early Sunday damaged the printing plant of the newspaper El Correo in the Basque Country town of Zamudio, north Spain, but no one was hurt, the Basque police told AFP.

The blast occurred around 3:00 am (0100 GMT) at the plant in an industrial zone of Zamudio, near Bilbao, the police said. The district was cordoned off while investigators searched for clues.

"Nothing is ruled out," a police spokesman said, hinting at the possibility of involvement by the Basque separatist group ETA which is on the European Union's list of terrorist organizations and is said to have been responsible for 823 deaths in 40 years of violence.
