Solid gold Kate Moss statue unveiled

(nowmagazine.co.uk) - A ?1.5million solid gold statue of Kate Moss has gone on display at the British Museum . The 50kg sculpture, called Siren, has been created by artist Marc Quinn .

And it will go on sale for ?10,000 when the exhibition finishes. It features Kate, 34, in a contorted shape with her legs over her head. The installation is said to be the largest gold statue created since ancient Egyptian times.

And it sits alongside statuettes of historical Greek figures in the Nereid Gallery. `I thought the next thing to do would be to make a sculpture of the person who's the ideal beauty of the moment,ї Marc tells the BBC.

`But even Kate Moss doesn't live up to the image.ї
