The fifth meeting of the Moldovan-Bulgarian intergovernmental commission for economic, technical and scientific collaboration is to be held in Chisinau on 26-28 February, MOLDPRES reported.
The commission's co-heads are Moldovan Information Development Minister Pavel Buceatchi and Bulgarian Deputy Economics and Energy Minister Iavor Kuiumdjiev, the Economics and Trade Ministry's press service has said.
On 26 February, the Bulgarian delegation is to visit the Tvardita Free Entrepreneurial Zone, the Saint Parascovia Church and the ethnographic museum from the Tvardita village. The delegation will also attend a concert dedicated to Bulgarian national traditions.
During the visit, the Bulgarian deputy minister will have a series of bilateral meetings namely with Moldovan Deputy Economics and Trade Minister Igor Copaci, Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Anatolie Spivacenco, as well as with the leadership of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences.
The officials are to approach issues related to Moldova's and Bulgaria's trade and economic progress, to discuss the need to increase the number of Moldovan-Bulgarian joint enterprises and will exchange opinions on the evolution of the Moldovan-Bulgarian relations in the economic and energy sectors.
The commission's meeting is to take place on 27 February. The event will be focused on bilateral relations in the agro-food, standardisation, metrology, industry, transport, regional policies and other sectors.
In 2008, the volume of the Moldovan-Bulgarian foreign trade stood at 67.3 million dollars, down by 8.7 per cent against 2007. On the same period, the Moldovan economic agents exported to the Bulgarian market goods worth 22.3 million dollars. The import was estimated at 45 million dollars, the Economics and Trade Ministry's press service has said.
