An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale rattled the Greek eastern Dodecannese islands Friday, but no damage or injuries were reported, the Athens Geodynamic Institute said.
The earthquake took place at 0900 GMT. Its epicentre was recorded to be near the islands of Kos and Astypaleia, at a depth of about 180 kilometres, DPA reported.
Thw quake was felt throughout the eastern Aegean and residents on many nearby islands reportedly rushed out of their homes in shock.
