US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was in Athens Sunday for talks with Greek leaders on the eurozone crisis, dpa reported.

Clinton had arrived Saturday night after talks with Libya's rebel transitional leaders in Turkey. Her talks in Athens were to continue until Monday and her departure for India, the next stop on her tour. The United States has urged the rest of the euro zone to help Greece.

A meeting with Greek Foreign Minister Stavros Lambrinidis was expected to focus on the Middle East, the stalemate over peace on Cyprus and the outlook for the Balkan region.

Greek state radio said a US-Greek accord on fighting illegal trafficking in antique artefacts was to be signed during the visit.
