Several people were killed and some others were injured when a suicide car bomb went off in Guzara district of western Afghan Herat province on Tuesday morning, an official said. "I do confirm a suicide car bomb was exploded in the entrance gate of Gurzara district office building at about 8:30 a.m. local time Tuesday," administrative district chief Nisar Ahmad Popul told Xinhua.
He said the bomber attempted to enter the compound but blew up his explosive-laden car shortly after the police intercepted him. Several people including police and civilians were killed and some others were injured in the explosion.
However, the witnesses near the site told Xinhua that at least 20 people were killed or injured in the attack.
