Pakistan's former president Pervez Musharraf handed himself in to a district court Friday over allegations that he abused his powers in 2007, one of his lawyers, Qamar Afzal, told dpa by phone.
Islamabad High Court ordered his arrest after rejecting his bail request Thursday, but the former army chief was whisked away by his private security detail before the police could arrest him outside the courtroom.
