A deputy spokesman with the U.S. State Department said that his country expected that Turkey's highest court would consider the will of the people in passing its ruling on a case filed against the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, reported World Buletin.
"First and foremost, we believe that Turkish authorities should be able to deal responsibly with this issue. We firmly support Turkish democracy and we certainly would expect that the Turkish courts, in looking at this issue, would consider the will of the people in making their decision," Tom Casey told a daily press briefing in response to a question.
