Joint meeting of Turkey and the U.S. dedicated to combating terrorism, which was scheduled for this month in Ankara, was cancelled on Washington's initiative, the Turkish Anadolu news agency reported.
White House spokesman Phillip Crowley said at a press conference that the event was cancelled because the delegation of the U.S., headed by the U.S. State Department Coordinator for Counterterrorism Daniel Benjamin was unable to attend the meeting at the scheduled date.
"Turkey is an important ally in combating terrorism and the U.S. are waiting for a new program of this event", Crowley said.
