Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian has been appointed Iran's new ambassador to Turkey.
Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported Feb. 24 that Taherian has begun exercising his duties as ambassador in Ankara.
Reportedly, the diplomat will present his credentials to Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the days to come.
Earlier, Alireza Bigdeli was serving as Iran's ambassador to Turkey.
