The rate of Turkish lira this morning again hit the record low against the US dollar, the Turkish Hurriyet newspaper reported Oct. 28.
The official US dollar rate in Turkey is 3.1156 liras as of Oct. 28.
According to experts, the record low was influenced by expectations of an increase in the discount rate by the US Federal Reserve System and the intensification of hostilities in Syria and Iraq.
Prior to this, the lowest level of the lira was recorded on Oct. 13, after Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim’s announcement on constitutional reform, when the US dollar was worth 3.1058 liras.
