Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 13

Iran has not requested help from Turkey for dealing with the aftermath of the devastating earthquake, according to the Turkish Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Health said in a message Nov. 13 that following the earthquake on the Iran-Iraq border, Turkey declared its readiness to provide the necessary support to all the affected countries.

Earlier in the day, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in its message that Ankara is ready to help the brotherly people of Iran to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake.

The earthquake hit large parts of Iraq and Iran, including the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Sunday evening. Death toll in the earthquake in western Iran has reached 328. Meanwhile, over 3,900 people were injured, local media outlets reported Nov. 13.

The US Geological Survey put the quake at 7.3 magnitude, placing the epicenter southwest of the city of Halabja along the Iraq-Iran border, Reuters reported.
