TOP 10 products Turkey exported to Iran since early 2019

From January to September 2019, the biggest share of Turkey’s exports to Iran accounted for chemical products, a source in the Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM) told Trend.

During the reporting period, export of chemical products from Turkey to Iran grew by 20.98 percent compared to the same period last year, amounting to $402.395 million.

Furniture, wood and paper products ranked second in this list, according to the report.

“During the reporting period, the export of furniture, wood and paper products from Turkey to Iran increased by 23.38 percent compared to the same period in 2018, reaching $216.553 million,” the report said.

Textile products rank third in the list of goods exported from Turkey to Iran.

“From January to September 2019, the export of textile products from Turkey to Iran increased by 74.29 percent compared to the same period in 2018, reaching $139.570 million,” the report noted.

Electrical goods ranks fourth in the list of goods exported from Turkey to Iran, the export of which decreased by 20.69 percent, amounting to $80.307 million.

“The next position in this list is taken by tobacco, the export of which from January to September 2019 increased by 12.39 percent compared to the same period in 2018, amounting to $77.420 million,” the report said.

Steel ranks sixth in the list of goods exported from Turkey to Iran for the nine months of 2019, the export of which decreased by 23.46 percent, amounting to $53.020 million.

“The seventh place in this list is taken by various metals, the export of which decreased by 47.05 percent, amounting to $42.934 million,” said the report. “The eighth place is taken by carpets, the export of which decreased by 3.07 percent, amounting to $31.735 million.”

Cement ranks ninth in the list of goods exported from Turkey to Iran in the nine months of 2019. Its export decreased by 46.65 percent, amounting to $15.452 million.

“The tenth place is taken by leather goods, the export of which grew by 48.91 percent, amounting to $11.581 million,” reads the report.

From January to September 2019, Turkish exports to Iran decreased by 4.09 percent compared to the same period in 2018, amounting to $1.738 billion.

Turkey’s foreign trade in September 2019 increased by 0.11 percent compared to the same period in 2018 and amounted to $32.181 billion.

From January to September 2019, Turkey’s total trade amounted to $286.419 billion.
