Volumes of cargo transshipment from Iran via Turkish ports disclosed

Cargo transshipment from Iran through ports of Turkey exceeded 47,845 tons in January 2020, Trend reports with reference to Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry.

Last month, the volume of cargo transshipment from Iran via Turkish ports by ships flying the Iranian flag amounted to 768 tons, while the ships flying flags of other countries accounted for the remaining 47,077 tons of cargo.

According to the ministry, no Iranian ship flying the Turkish flag transported cargo through Turkish ports.

Over the reporting period, no cargo was transshipped in transit from Iran via Turkey's ports.

The total cargo transshipment through ports of Turkey exceeded 32.9 million tons in January 2020.

Cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 2.4 million tons.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying flags of their country of origin amounted to over 1.5 million tons, while the vessels flying flags of other countries carried just over 29 million tons of cargo.

In total, over 6.1 million tons of cargo in transit were transported through Turkish ports.
