Turkmenistan increases import of leather goods from Turkey

Turkmenistan increased import of leather goods from Turkey in January 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend on Feb. 24.

According to the ministry, Turkmenistan’s import of leather goods from Turkey amounted to $250,000, which is 40.8 percent more compared to January 2019.

In 2019, Turkmenistan imported leather goods from Turkey worth $4 million, which is 31.89 percent more compared to 2018.

In January 2020, Turkey’s export of leather goods to world markets amounted to $133.4 million, showing an increase of 14.22 percent compared to the same month of 2019.

In 2019, Turkey’s foreign trade turnover exceeded $374.2 billion.

Turkey's export increased by 2.1 percent in 2019 and amounted to $171.5 billion compared to 2018. In the meantime, Turkey's import dropped by 9.1 percent and amounted to $202.7 billion.
