Demand for Turkish jewelry in France declines

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 30

Export of jewelry from Turkey to France decreased by 47.11 percent from January through May 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, and amounted to $4.5 million, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend on June 30.

In May 2020, Turkey’s export of jewelry to France dropped by 86.42 percent compared to May 2019, amounting to $311,000.

Turkey exported jewelry worth $1.3 billion to the world markets from January through May 2020, which is 11.8 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.

Meanwhile, the export of jewelry from Turkey amounted to 2.1 percent of the country’s total export volume from January through May 2020.

In May 2020, Turkey exported jewelry worth $225.4 million to the world markets, which is 37.4 percent less compared to the same month of 2019.

Turkey’s jewelry export amounted to 2.3 percent of the country’s total export volume in May 2020.

Turkey exported jewelry worth $3.9 billion from May 2019 through May 2020.
