Kazakhstan's labor market losing relevance for Turkish job seekers

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18

The number of trips of Turkish citizens to Kazakhstan for the purpose of employment plummeted from January through May 2021, the Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR) told Trend.

During this period, the number of Turkish citizens who visited Kazakhstan through ISKUR sharply dropped by 74.8 percent over the year, reaching 108 people, the agency said.

In general, 4,683 Turkish citizens traveled abroad through ISKUR from January through May 2021, which is 9.2 percent more than from January through May 2020.

Some 63,545 Turkish citizens were provided with jobs through ISKUR in May.

Some 30.2 percent out of the total number of those employed accounted for women, 69.8 percent - men. At the same time, 99.2 percent of applicants got a job in the private sector.

The number of unemployed in Turkey was 2.9 million in May 2021 (48.2 percent - women, 51.8 percent - men).
