BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23. Turkish port of Tekirdag handled 13.5 million tons of cargo from January through August 2022, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Turkic World, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, 469,148 tons of cargo were transported by ships under the flag of Türkiye through the port of Tekirdag, and 13.1 million tons by ships under the flags of other countries.
"Turkish port of Tekirdag handled 11.7 million tons of transit cargo from January through August 2022," the ministry added.
The ports of Türkiye handled in a total of 264.6 million tons of cargo from January through August 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 18.9 million tons during the specified period. Cargo transportation through the ports of Türkiye by ships flying the flags of other countries amounted to 245.6 million tons in 2021.
Turkish ports handled 54 million tons of transit cargo from January through August 2022.
