Türkiye reveals volume of petroleum products' transshipment via local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 12. Turkish ports received 65.8 million tons of petroleum products from January through September 2023, Trend reports.

The Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said that the volume of petroleum products accepted by vessels under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 4.6 million tons during this period.

"The transportation of petroleum products by ships under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 61.2 million tons," the ministry said.

In addition, 30.3 million tons of petroleum products were transported from the ports of Türkiye in transit from January through September 2023.

Turkish ports received 32.2 million tons of cargo in September 2023.

During this period, cargo traffic to domestic ports on ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.

Cargo transportation of ships under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 29.5 million tons.

Besides, in September 2023, 5.1 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye.

The ministry's data shows that Turkish ports received 292.6 million tons of cargo from January through September this year.

Cargo received by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 21.7 million tons from January through September 2023. Cargo transportation to Turkish ports by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 270.8 million tons.

In general, 51.7 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye from January through September 2023.
