CEC holds workshop on inking of fingers

The Azerbaijani Central Election Committee (CEC) held a workshop on 25 October presidential decree on urgent measures in relation to preparation and holding of the parliamentary elections at the House of Government. Attending the event were chairmen of constituency and station committees, responsible employees of the CEC Secretariat, Trend reports.

Mazahir Panahov, the chairman of the CEC, informed the participants of the event about the presidential decree. He stressed that the head of the country demonstrated his position on democratic, fair and transparent parliamentary elections, signing the decree. He also gave instructions concerning the full readiness of election stations on the voting day. Panahov mentioned adoption of the inking rules by the CEC.

Then Vidadi Mahmudov, the secretary of the CEC, presented overhaul information about the direction and demonstrated inking of fingers and their checking-up.

Natig Mammadov, other secretary of the CEC, informed the participants of the workshop about the rules of participation of NGOs with 30% foreign capital in the elections as observer.

Members of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission in Azerbaijan, the USAID and the International Fund for Election Systems also participated at the workshop.
