Polish company "JSK Architekci" has intended to build a stadium in Sumgait.

Work on the stadium project has been completed, preliminary agreement was reached with SOCAR, which will finance the implementation of the project, vice - president of the company Mariusz Rutz said in Warsaw at a meeting with Azerbaijani journalists.

According to the vice - president of the company, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with SOCAR.

"We hope that before the end of the year we will be able to begin construction of the stadium ," Rutz said.

In the original project it was planned to build a stadium for 40,000 seats, but later management of SOCAR offered to build a stadium for 15 000 seats, he said.

The new stadium will be built on the place of the old one, which was built in the 60s. It will meet all modern standards.

Company "JSK Architekci" besides designing stadiums also engaged in designing airports and shopping centers.

The company also has a desire to work in "White City" project in Baku.
