Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze has inspected the rehabilitation work on the trunk gas pipeline.
The minister was accompanied by Director General of the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation David Tvalabeishvili and representatives of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Georgian Energy Ministry told Trend today.
The operations are underway in the second and third phases within the USAID project. They envisage the construction of the 29-kilometer Abasha-Senaki section and the 47-kilometer Kutaisi-Abasha section.
Azerbaijani company "Trust neftgaztikint" won the tender to conduct the operations on the Abasha-Senaki section.
The operations on this section started in June 2012 and expected to be completed this spring.
