Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) can offer its terminals in the Persian Gulf for Kazakh oil and gas export, head of Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) Adel Khalil Almoayyed said on April 14.
He was speaking at the Kazakh- Bahraini Business Forum in Astana as part of King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad bin Isa al- Khalifa's first official visit to Kazakhstan.
"There are several areas of our cooperation in the oil and gas sector," he said. "The first area is a production modernization program, implemented by BAPCO. Our experience may be of interest to Kazakhstan. The second direction is that we can offer Kazakhstan our terminals in the Persian Gulf for Kazakh oil and gas export."
"Bahrain has great potential in the field of oil and gas field exploration," he said.
"As two oil-producing countries, we can share experience in the field of oil and gas exploration and production," he said.
The head of the company said that the history of oil and gas production in Bahrain began in 1932, when the first oil field was discovered in the country. Gas production in Bahrain began in 1937. The new gas fields were discovered in the country in 1948, which contributed to the development of petro and gas chemistry. Bahrain exports gas to 35 world countries.
He stressed that the petrochemical industry is well-developed in Bahrain. The plant of Bahraini company "Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company", built in 1985, works without the emergency situations and delays all year round.
The company is ready to share its experience in the field of petrochemistry with Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan's imports from Bahrain in 2013 amounted to $1.45 million. In 2012, this figure hit $1.37 million, according to the official statistics.
