Chairman of the Georgian Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee Tedo Japaridze continues his visit to Iran, which kicked off on Sept. 1.

The visit's purpose is to resume political and economic consultations between Georgia and Iran.

Georgian parliament told Trend Sept. 2 that during the visit Japaridze will meet with the speaker of the Iranian parliament Ali Larijani, the officials from Foreign Ministry and other officials.

"As it is known, Georgia and Iran have had a visa-free entrance regime, but then it was cancelled. We intend to discuss this issue. Georgia will hold further consultations with Iran, and the best solution to the problem will be found," the head of the parliamentary committee told reporters.

Georgia abolished the visa regime for the citizens of Iran in 2013.
