Iran’s nuclear development on fast track even if talks with world powers fail

Baku, Azerbaijan, May 13

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran will continue developing its nuclear program with high speed even if talks with world powers fail, Ali Larijani, the Iranian parliament speaker said.

"Even on the assumption that the talks fail, Iran will continue with high speed to develop its nuclear program, so that the US and its allies will be regretful in the next few years," Iran 's Fars news agency quoted Larijani as saying May 13.

US officials called for a couple of years to start nuclear talks and declared that they will recognize Iran's right to nuclear enrichment. But, today they talk boldly in order to recuperate from humiliation, Larijani said.

"Moreover, isn't this shameful for an Islamic country [Saudi Arabia] to send its foreign minister to the airport amid the nuclear talks and demand the failure of the talks and promise to reduce the oil price?"

The Islamic Republic of Iran proceeds with the nuclear talks within a certain framework and such amateurish actions will not affect the outcome of the nuclear talks, he added.

Iran and the P5+1 group of countries- the US, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany- reached a framework agreement on Tehran's nuclear program on April 2 in Switzerland. The two sides are working to finalize a deal by the end of June.
