Turkish International Strategic Studies Center head Celal Cem Oguz believes Turkey must prove that it can join EU and are entitled to it.
"Expansion of Turkish policy in the Middle East is associated with this, as European Union has big problems in this region," Expert on Turkey's policy in the Caucasus and Russia Oguz said at the Strategic Studies Center under the Azerbaijani President in Baku today. "Turkey must demonstrate that it can help EU in this region and become a kind of" mediator."
According to him, today no radical change was observed in Turkey's foreign policy. The current foreign policy course is a continuation and expansion of those projects and directions, which was initiated in 90-ies, the expert said.
Regarding the Turkish-Israeli relations, the expert said even if not the Justice and Development Party would in power, but other party, Turkey's reaction (on events in Palestine) was the same.
