David Harries, executive director of the strategic center "Foresight Canada", considers tolerance and a dialogue as a maximal model of development in the global security system.

"My model of developing the situation in the world security is to be honest and conduct a direct dialogue. Tolerance must be maximal truth," Harries said at the Center for Strategic Studies under the Azerbaijani President today.

Harries presented theoretical aspects of the global security system at the center.

"Foresight Canada" strategic center is considered to be the main think tank in Canada. The center has been studying the current security problems, develops forecasts for the future and studies the future events.

"Speaking about the global security system, one should stop using nouns to determine various processes and begin to use verbs, because the modern world is changing with incredible speed,"   Harries, a retired colonel in the Canadian Armed Forces, a military engineer, said.

He said that striving for peace must be always the scenario of talks to settle the conflict. As an example he cited the conflict in the Middle East. "Foresight Canada" carried out extensive work on this subject in 2002-2003, he said. Speaking about the Middle East conflict, it is necessary to focus on progress in the negotiation process, but not the final decision, Harries said.
