Eight candidates will take part in the presidential election in Turkmenistan scheduled for February 12, Turkmen State News Service reported.

Registration of presidential candidates completed on Tuesday. Turkmen Central Election Commission announced that eight candidates had been officially registered.

Among them are the incumbent president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the deputy governor for agriculture of Dashoguz province Recep Bazarov, the head of Turkmengaz state concern's "Marygazchykarysh" department Kakageldy Abdyllaev, the governor of Turkmennneft State Concern's "Nebitgazduypliabatlayysh" trust Gurbanmamed Mollanyyazov, the water resources minister Annageldy Yazmyradov, the head of construction ministry's "Lebapgurlushyk" production association Esenkuli Gayipov, the director of the Gokdepe cotton spinning mill Saparmyrat Batyrov and the energy and industry minister Yarmuhammet Orazgulyev.

The director of "Turkmenchemistry" state concern's "Maryazot" production association Myrat Charygulyev and the head of "Turkmennebit" state concern's "Turkmennebitgeofizika" department Nikita Recepov withdrew their candidacies. Another five candidates didn't submit all necessary documents to the CEC.
