Turkey is ready to accept the surrendered fighters of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), who left the Makhmour camp in northern Iraq, Turkish Interior Minister Bashir Atalay was quoted as saying by the Turkish Anadolu news agency.
Turkey is ready to accept the surrendered members of the PKK, he said. The Habur checkpoint, located on the Turkey-Iraq border may be used for the admission procedure, he added.
The minister also stressed that members of the PKK terrorist camps in the Makhmour also reside there with their families. According to Atalay, a commission involving the U.S., Turkey and Iraq will soon be set up to investigate the situation at the camp.
