Azerbaijan, Baku, 31 January / corr Trend R.Hafizoglu / It is groundless to ask for contribution from the Iraqi Government for murder of Kurds during Saddam Husein's Government. "Kurds will not be paid any contribution," Iragi MP Fovzi Terzioglu stated.

Nechirvan Berzani, head of Kurds Administration in Arbil, demanded the Iraqi Government to make apologize and pay contribution for murder of Saddam regime in Halab city, Anadolu agency reports. He promised to put every effort so that the world would recognize the tragedy of 5,000 people killed in Iraq in 1988 as the genocide of Kurds as the Holocaust.

Experts consider that such statement by Berzani will complicate the situation in Iraq and will be a base for new clashes between Kurds and Arabs.

"Berzani's demanding from the Iraqi Government apology for murder of Kurds by Saddam is national fanaticism," MP Fovzi Akram Terzioglu said over a telephone talk from Kirkuk on 31 January.

According to Terzioglu, the Iraqi Government will not fulfill Berzani's demand and will not pay contribution.

"Saddam was the enemy of not only Kurds, but also all those who were against him. Thousands of people have fell Saddam's crimes victims irrespective of their nationality and religion," Tersioglu said.

According to Terzioglu, the current Government does not have a responsibility for crimes committed by Saddam.

"I am sure that Berzani's demands will deepen the gap between Kurds and Arabs," he said.

Salahaddin Muhammad Bahaddin, the head of the Islamic Union of Kurdustan also told Trend that Berzani's intention to introduce to the world the murder of Kurds as genocide is the national fanaticism.

"Saddam was a criminal and he oppressed the people of Iraq, a country where Kurds, Shiites and Sunnites reside together. Interests of one country cannot be above other's," Salahaddin told Trend via e-mail.

During Saddam's government, not only Kurds, but also Arabs were terminated in mass order.

Berzani's demands for contribution from the Iraqi Government for the 'Kurdish genocide' is probable to lead to new public disorders between Arabs and Kurds, he stressed.

During the power of former Iraqi President Saddam Husein, 5 million people died as a result of chemical attacks of Iraqi army on Halab city, which is densely populated by Kurds, in 1988.
