By Matanat Nasibova – Trend:
TITAN GROUP, Azerbaijan’s industrial construction corporation, plans to develop a new type of sandwich panels with polyisocyanurate foam (PIR) in the current year, a source in the corporation told Trend.
This includes fire-resistant panels with PIR used for the construction of residential buildings, walls, roofs, etc.
“The corporation plans to expand range of this industrial product to increase the export potential. In particular, Georgia is considered as the main sale market,” the source said.
“Previously we planned to start exporting the product in March or April of this year, but due to suspension of the enterprise’s operations amid the coronavirus pandemic, the corporation’s plans changed,” noted the source. “As of now, we intend to resume the negotiations with our foreign partners to clarify the export date. Tentatively we expect to start the export in the summer.”
TITAN GROUP has a Russian certificate of conformity certifying the quality management system, environmental management system, as well as occupational safety system, in relation to the production of sandwich panels made of PUR (polyurethane) and PIR foams, intended for transformer container houses, industrial gates and technological doors, doors for cool stores, refrigerated display cases, retail shelving, electric, gas, frying plates and other products.
In contrast to traditional thermal insulation, PUR foam and PIR foam panels have several advantages. One of the advantages is their low thermal conductivity, due to PUR and PIR materials containing gas with extremely low thermal conductivity inside their cells. The thermal conductivity of the heaters themselves is in the range from 0.020 Watts per meter-Kelvin (W/mK) to 0.025 W/mK. Another advantage of the panels is that the new construction products provide material density and extremely low water absorption.
The PUR and PIR panels are environmentally friendly materials, since they don’t emit harmful substances during operation, such as phenols or styrenes.
PIR belongs to the class of thermosetting polymers which don’t change their shape with increasing temperatures. The PIR sandwich panels are fire resistant and have high fire resistance properties. Under the influence of the PIR flame, a protective carbon crust forms on its surface, which is a natural barrier to fire and blocks its spread inside the sandwich panels.
Since 1990, TITAN GROUP began operating as a manufacturer of refrigeration equipment for commercial and industrial facilities in Azerbaijan. From 1996, the company has been introducing the production of kitchen equipment, industrial heating and refrigeration equipment for catering facilities, and since 2000 conducting production, designing and complex engineering calculations of large-capacity refrigeration and cooling chambers.
The company’s branches are located in the settlement of Bulbul in Baku’s Surakhani district and in the settlement of Bina.
