Azeri, Armenian presidents to meet early Feb Armenian FM

The Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia will meet in France early February 2006, the Armenian foreign minister, Vadan Oskanian, told the Radio Liberty. He was commenting on the results of two-day talks with the Azerbaijani FM, Elmar Mammadyarov, in London.

The exact date and place of the meeting will be publicized shortly, said Oskanian noting that France had sent invitation to the heads of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Oskanian characterized the two-day meeting as positive. The London meeting did not mull any concrete document, but discussed a half-page working document, which can be attributed as a manual on talks. The document describes principles of resolution of the conflict, Oskanian underscored.

In the conclusion the Armenian FM said that prior to the meeting of the heads of state no meeting of the Foreign Ministers was on schedule.
