Turkish Army started a large-scale special operation against militants of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party on Thursday, the Sabah newspaper reported.
The operation is held on Kato Mountain in Hakkari Province near the Iraqi border. Heavy military equipment, military helicopters and fighter jets are involved in the operation involved.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has lasted for over 25 years. The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organisation by both the UN and the EU.
