Iran Demands French News Agency’s Tehran Representative to Leave Country

Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 July / corr. Trend T.Jafarov / The Iranian Culture Ministry demanded deputy director of the French news agency's Tehran Office to leave the country, the French news agency reported.

According to Istivart Williams, the deputy director of agency's Tehran Office, the Iranian Culture Ministry called him and demanded to leave Iran.

Denis Hewlett, the head of the Public Relations Department of the French news agency, expressed his regret in connection with the Culture Ministry's position. However, the agency intends to highlight Iran further, he said.

Williams, a citizen of the United Kingdom, has worked in Tehran for two years. His Iranian visa is effective by August 2008.
