Turkmenistan to send humanitarian aid to flood-hit Pakistan

Turkmenistan will send free humanitarian aid - about 40 tons of cargo, including food, medicines and first aid means to Pakistan, who suffered from massive floods.

The order "on behalf of the Turkmen people" was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov. Appropriate instructions are given to the ministries of trade and foreign economic relations, health and medical Industry, Food Industry Association of Turkmenistan.

State National Service Turkmenhowayollary (Turkmenistan Airlines) is instructed to provide delivery of humanitarian aid to Pakistan at its own expense.

As a result of the natural disaster in Pakistan whole villages are damaged, many people lost all their property, numerous casualties are registered.

Berdimuhammadov at the last governmental meeting stressed that "following the traditions of humanism and charity Turkmenistan will provide the Pakistani people with urgent humanitarian aid on behalf of the Turkmen people."

The Turkmen leader instructed to provide delivery of convoy with flour to Afghanistan in accordance with the decision, which was adopted earlier to provide the neighboring country with humanitarian aid. On Saturday morning the convoy will be sent to Pakistan in a festive atmosphere.
